Hail Storm 2012
Just when we thought we were making progress on the house we got hit with a severe hail storm tonight Thursday July 26. I have never seen a hail storm like this before. After the storm was over we were talking to the neighbor and he said that he is 64 years old and has never seen a storm like it before. There isn't a car in town that was out side that doesn't either have a severely cracked windshield or windows completely broke out of it. We were both working over on the house when it started to thunder and lightening and the wind started to blow and then there was this weird sound and Delbert said I think we are going to get a storm so we better put thing inside. I no sooner got inside and I looked out the front window and I saw something large and white bounce off the front lawn, then I heard something hit the house, and then again. All of a sudden there was large hail coming like crazy and Delbert was out back in the shed and all I could do was stand there and watch things on the house get damaged and think WHY. We have worked so hard and now we have to start again.
Some of the Hail |
I can't believe how big it is. It would hit the lawn and then bounce up about 3 feet |
I did have good looking tomato plant's before the storm |
So much for New Eaves Trough . They have only been on for two weeks. They Hail split them open |
The picture doesn't show what our truck looks like but this is kind of what it looks like. I will try and get a better picture |

Big Changes Today
A long day yesterday payed off as it made it so we were ready for the drywallers to come and and get started. Del and I worked until midnight last night and then started early again this morning. It was amazing to see how fast the drywall went up today. They said that we should be read to paint in about 10 day's. I guess I better get paint colors picked out.

Little Stuff Just About Done
We have been busy the past doing the electrical, pluming and heating. I have forgot from the last house we built how time consuming this is. We have spent some very long hard day's over at the house this past week trying to get it all done as we have drywall coming today. So now things will really start to change.
Insulating all done |
Front Door In |
Front Window's going in with the help of Caleb and Delbert Bevans and the siding has also been removed. |
Do you notice how the young guy's are inside on a solid floor and Delbert Bevans who is the oldest is outside on a skinny plank. |
Back Window's in and most of the siding gone. |
Old ceiling have been redone |
The ceilings in the living room and kitchen have been patched where there used to be walls |
Cabinet in the master closet beside the fireplace. Instead of having a waisted space we decided to build this cabinet to store the vacuum hose in for the bedroom. |
Fireplace in the master bedroom |
Removed the tile in front of the tub of the main bathroom. This will make it easier to find new flooring. It has been hard to find flooring to match the tile and the marble tub. |
Brett and Brady putting up the vapour barrier. |
