SUMMER TIME FUN

Well I have been slack since my last post. When we got back from Hawaii it was time to start spring clean up in the yard, and it was end of the year testing at school as well pretesting all the new kids that come into preschool for the coming year. Spring turned out to be a wet and cold spring just like last year. We were able to get the garden planted the end of May just before all the rain really started. I was afraid that it wasn't going to come up with all the rain and cold weather but it did. Things were a little late but we are enjoying what we planted. We not only planted it for us but for my parents as well as we knew that they would be home this summer. We had expected them home sometime later in August but they surprised us all and they were home the end of July. The first part of July we were busy getting things ready for the Beazer reunion and then after that it was time to start PACKING. Yes we were on the move again. Delbert seems to like this house sitting stuff and we agreed to house sit for another couple in our ward for the next 18 months. We moved into their home just a few day's before mom and dad came home. Not that we had alot of stuff to move as most of are stuff is in storage. Brady and Cortney had moved in with us in June as they were both tired of Edmonton and they both were able to find jobs in Cardston. So that added to the move as they have some of their stuff here. Once every thing was out of mom's house, being me I had to go through mom's house and completely clean it for her even though she said I didn't need to. Now that we are moved in it is nice to be able to relax a little. School will start in a few weeks so I hope to enjoy what time I have left of summer even if that means mowing acres and acres of lawn.

HAWAII 2011

So the Hawaii holiday all started one night when Delbert and I were watching TV ( Hawaii Five O ) and he said maybe we should go to Hawaii. We weren't planning on going to Hawaii, we had been planning on going to Alabama and Texas to see our parents. But since he said that I took it upon myself after work the next day to see what flights would be to Hawaii at Easter break. Well I was able to find a great seat sale to Hawaii and it was cheaper to fly there than it was to Alabama so when he came home that evening I showed him and his comment to me was,
" did you really think I was serious". At that point I really didn't care as I have always wanted to go to Hawaii and I told him that I would see my parents in August when they got home. With a few kind words, and a push of the button I had purchased the tickets to Hawaii. The next thing to do was to let mom know that we weren't coming to see her. Her response was, " so that is how I rate, sunny beaches. From there we spent a few nights online looking for a condo to rent. Once our kids found out that we were going they were all put out. Brooklyn was able to convince Travis to take some time off and come and join us for part of the time. She had to take a test first by eating crab and that didn't go so well. We had a great time in Hawaii. The only problem was that after the two week's were up I wasn't ready to come home. There is nothing like spending two wonderful weeks away from telephones, work and spending it with the one you love. We spent a few day's in Waikiki before we headed to Turtle Bay where we had the Condo booked.

Walking the beach in Waikiki

There were alot of these trees in Hawaii where the roots would hang from the branches and then grow back into the ground making the base of the tree very large.

One of the nights in Waikiki we decided to take a Sunset Dinner Cruise with entertainment and it was a wonderful evening.

The day that Delbert went to get the rental Brooklyn, Travis, Macy and I went for a walk on Waikiki beach. Nothing like father and daughter walking hand in hand !!!
Macy wanted in the water so bad that we decided to take her cloth's off and let her get wet and she was in her glory.

Chasing the birds in the park !!!
Swimming at Turtle Bay

I think Macy and Grandpa have the same squint !!!!
So one day while Delbert and Travis were getting their shrimp at the shrimp shack Macy was getting restless in her car seat so we let her out and let her climb in the back window. What a great pose.
Okay no she is not being smothered. The sun was in her eye's and she was sound asleep and her head kept falling forward so Brooklyn and Travis put this blanket over her forehead to keep it from falling forward.
Feeding the birds with Grandpa
She loved chasing the birds around
Guess what Grandpa I got your phone, come and get me
Pearl Harbor - Travis really loved it

Macy didn't like the snorkel gear
Macy loved playing in the sand and there were a few times we found her trying to eat it.

Delbert and Travis out snorkeling

Nothing like a good Pina Colada on a hot day !!!
She was alway's happy

Travis off looking into the sunset
There is nothing like Sunset's

Snuggle time with Grandma
Brooklyn & Macy
Travis, Macy & Brooklyn
I told you Grandpa I could drive
A fun filled day at Polynesian Cultural Center

Yes we get to go see the Turtle's now

Delbert and I had gone to the temple in the morning so Brooklyn and Travis went in the evening so we watched Macy and spent the time on the temple grounds. What a beautiful temple and grounds.

Fields and fields of pineapples. If we could only have pineapples that tasted that good at home.
We decided to Waimea Bay one day so that Delbert and Travis could go Boogie boarding but the waves were to high and they wouldn't let them so they decided to just go wave jumping instead. There was no way that Brooklyn and I were going to go out and be bashed around so we just sat back and were well entertained.

Delbert standing by as Travis is being thrown around.

There goes Travis about to be buried again
Not sure what the two of them are laughing about
Delbert and Travis are some where under there
How is it going Delbet

Travis looking a little tired
The two of them played in the waves like these for quiet awhile.

Travis dug a hole and then we put Macy in it and she wasn't to happy with us.

We took a tour of the Pineapple Plantation and it was really interesting and Delbert and I really enjoyed the garden tour.
When the weather gets really hot the bark on this tree turns red
Banana Tree - we had bought some bananas from a fruit stand and they were the best bananas we have ever tasted.

Papaya Tree- there was one of these right out side of our condo back door
cocoa bean
Jack Fruit - they get up to 80 lbs
