Bargello # 2

After many hours of cutting and sewing I have completed the top of the quilt. It still needs the border and quilting done on it.

SNOW MELTING

We haven't seen a winter like this in many years. After all the snow we got through the holiday's last week we finally had a few day's of a chinook. Then Thursday night brought 12 inches of fresh snow. Again on Friday another chinook blew in and things are starting to appear again. These pictures were taken on today.
somewhere behind the piles and drifts is the elementary school
You can start to see window's again on the west side of the nursing home
Still have piles of snow
After 4 day's of a chinook you can see the shed behind the house, but somewhere under the drift is two quads.

Drive To Waterton

On Saturday Del had to go on a service call so I grabbed the camera and went with him. When we left town the wind was just starting to blow. About 5 miles out of town it was picking up. The highway's have been like this for the past few weeks.

January 2009 Drifts

This year so far has been drifts of snow. On the 31 of December we had to hire a bobcat to plow the road out. Well that only lasted a day because New Years Eve we were faced with another ground blizzard and more snow. So this time Del rented a bobcat and spent most of the day plowing through drifts. There are many drifts around town that look the same. It has been at least 10 years since Cardston has seen this much snow. Every day seems like we are faced with a new challenge "drifts". We are grateful for the snow that will fill up the dugouts and reservoirs etc., but only wish that it could just stay where it falls and not blow. The kids all made it back home safe and sound and we were glad to have them home for the Christmas Season.
So Brett if you are reading this I hope that you are glad to be where it is WARM.
